I crochet and I am learning to knit. My daughter taught herself to knit and has left me in the mud on that skill. She can crochet but would rather knit. We are both interesting in weaving but haven't invested too much time in it. She wants to learn to spin her own yarn (can I have a loan please). We both know cross stitch and I can muddle through embroidery. My husband can crochet a bit but he is more a shovel and hammer type of guy. My sons can't get their heads out of the computer long enough to be bothered.

Nice. I used to enjoy knitting.. It's very relaxing, at least until you have to undo stitches and figure out what went wrong where, lol. I picked up a drop spindle for less than $20 and it's a great way to learn to spin without the investment into a spinning wheel. I am growing flax and several varieties of cotton next year (was too late to start the seeds by the time they arrived). So I look forward to learning to process raw organic fibers. I would like to learn to blacksmith, but that's going to a dream with so many other endeavors at this time. It's so easy to get going in too many directions these days.

I'm not a fan of knitting but I have been crocheting since I was a child. I'm pretty limited on what I can and can't do in a rental, esp., in this neighborhood so growing things is tricky. Not that I don't love the shade the trees give here but it takes an act of god and a few well placed missiles to take down an oak tree around here (they are protected by law) so the shade in the back is pretty thick. Growing in the front is a matter of not incurring the wrath of what ever civil servant decides to take issue with how the yard looks, or the nosy neighbor who likes to complain because she can.

Now I am hunting down spinning videos. Definitely want to learn how to do it now. I am not spending any money until I have saved up at least $200 cash, or so I am telling myself. Just promised my youngest we will go out to House of Pizza Friday. I seriously have to say NO.
